LIQUID ROCKETRY APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN!
SwanSEDS aims to provide practical engineering opportunities in aerospace through learning experiences, national & international competitions, various practical workshops, industry networking, and much more!
SwanSEDS is Swansea University's Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS) branch and in-house rocketry society. We build rockets, rocket engines and rovers with the goal of inspiring the next generation of engineers and giving them practical, hands-on experience to help them make their mark in industry.
Draig Twyni is our competition-winning rocket tested at the Mach-25 Competition at RAF Macrihanish in 2025. It is a dual-booster 2-stage rocket that was fully recovered and won Category 3 of the competition.
Puff was our first bipropellant liquid rocket engine. It runs off a Nitrous-IPA mixture and was successfully cold-flow tested at Race2Space 2025. We are looking forward to hot-firing it soon.
Draig Tawe is our first rocket tested at a national competition and successfully won Category 2 of Mach-24, succesfully reaching the altitude target within 3% accuracy.
